Recycling Passion

BMW Manufacturing understands our industry produces a large amount of waste, and to reduce the negative effects of this waste, we've adopted an aggressive recycling program. In 2000, we recycled 14 million of the 17.8 million pounds of total waste. We're able to recycle all of our paper and cardboard waste and every piece of scrap metal. The surplus wood, plastic, rubber and paint are also recycled, as well as the paint sludge, fluorescent light tubes and oil.
