Monday, May 12  - Sunday, May 18

TRANSPORTATION
(A 6 - 8 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 8:00 pm some late hours also available)
Provide transportation services for sponsors, players, caddies and perform special tasks driving official BMW vehicles.  Provide assistance in BMW vehicle preparation and moving vehicles and vans before and after the tournament.  Assist in vehicle dispatching and airport site tasks.  Provide van shuttle services on and off course property driving 15-passenger vans for patrons, volunteers, staff and special tasks.  Driving vans is optional, not required.  Volunteer must be at least 21.  All transportation volunteers must present a valid driver license to their chairperson.  Ability to drive manual transmission preferred but not required.  CDL license is helpful.
NOTE: Volunteers are also needed pre-tournament, May 3-10 and post-tournament May 19-24.  Please indicate if you are available.  Some evening hours also available.
PRO-AM EVENTS
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm)
These events will be held May 12 at Bright's Creek Golf Club, May 13 at The Carolina Country Club and May 14 at The Country Club of Spartanburg.
ECOLOGY/BEVERAGES/ICE
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm)
To maintain on-course requirements including stocking player refreshments at starter and finishing tents, hospitality tents, concessions, volunteer areas, media room and offices.  The position also involves trash removal at various locations.  This is a physical job requiring some lifting (ice, beverages, etc.).
HOSPITALITY
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm)
Contestant Services - provide information on local services and attractions to professional and amateur contestants.
Hotel Desk - provide tournament and local service information to guests at preferred hotels and act as a liaison with Transportation. Some evening hours are also available.
Media Center - answer phones, take messages and maintain area.
Volunteer Services - check in and assist volunteers as well as maintain volunteer meal areas.  Also assist at "Orientation Day" held at the BMW Zentrum, Saturday, May 3.  Indicate on the application that you can work this day in space provided.
Childcare - care for Nationwide Tour professionals' children.
Entrance Gate Greeter/Ticket Sales - includes providing general information to spectators (this position open Thursday through Sunday only).

Thursday, May 15 - Sunday, May 18

CART/SHUTTLES
(A 6 - 8 hour shift sometime between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm)
Provide transportation services driving golf carts on course property.  Assignments include shuttling volunteers, contestants and other personnel; delivering meals, drinks and supplies; and various special tasks.  Must be a licensed driver.
WALKING SCORER
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm)
Accompany a group of two professional golfers and two amateur golfers documenting all four players' scores.  Able to enter scores into Palm Pilot.  Good hearing required.  Must be able to briskly walk an 18-hole round and be knowledgeable about golf.  Not required to make decisions about rules.  A special training session is mandatory on May 10th at Thornblade Club.  Volunteers must sign up for two consecutive days.  You will be notified in advance if you are chosen for this position.
*SCORING CENTRAL
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm)
Enter players' scores into a computer.  Must be computer literate and able to follow instructions and work under pressure.  Volunteers will also be required to attend the mandatory training session on May 10th at Thornblade Club.  You will be notified if you are chosen for this position.  Adults only.
*SCORING RUNNER
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm)
Carry scorecard from official scoring tents to Scoring Central.  A sense of urgency is required and volunteer must be a licensed driver and physically fit.
*FINISHING TENTS
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm)
Receive scorecard from amateurs and professionals - adults only.

* These positions are very limited and may not be available

STANDARD BEARER
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm)
This position is perfect for youths 13 and older.  Volunteers must be able to walk 18 holes carrying a 5 lb. standard sign.  Standard Bearers walk with the players "inside the ropes".  (Thornblade Club Only)
MARSHAL
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm)
Control spectators' movement and noise level and spot incoming golf shots.  Not responsible for rulings during play.  Position allows volunteer to sit-down occasionally; please bring your own portable chair.  A few volunteers will be selected each day for "yardage markers" (measuring Tour players tee shot yardage).  These volunteers will be selected by the Marshal Chairman.
SKYBOX MARSHAL
(A 6 hour shift sometime between 9:00 am - 6 pm)
Assist in verifying credentials in skybox areas at any of the three courses.  Skybox Marshals will also assist in keeping spectators quiet during play and will also be asked to bag trash and help maintain clean areas.  Trash will then be removed by Ecology Volunteers.
GENERAL DUTIES VOLUNTEER
(a 6 hour shift sometime between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm)
You may be asked to fill in as and where needed. Flexibility and "can do" attitude important. This is a fun job where a volunteer will do many things and experience the whole event.
