BMW Announces Immediate Hiring.
BMW Manufacturing announced today that they are actively hiring production and logistics positions at the Spartanburg plant. As announced in 2012, the company is in the midst of a 2-year, $900 million expansion, adding the all-new BMW X4 and completing construction of an additional1.6 million square feet of production and logistics space.
“Additional team members are needed immediately to support our future model strategy, that will now include four BMW models,” according to Manfred Erlacher, President of BMW Manufacturing. “BMW’s projected global sales forecast is very encouraging. An increase in staffing is required to respond to this continued, strong global demand.”
Sky Foster, Department Manager for Corporate Communications, confirmed that the new jobs will be hired by MAU, Inc., BMW Manufacturing’s contract staffing partner. “In order to sustain BMW’s customer-oriented production system, BMW uses various staffing models to bring flexibility to its workforce.”
BMW expects that the addition of these new jobs will bring the total number of jobs at the plant in South Carolina to nearly 8,000 jobs on-site by the end of 2014. BMW’s current investment in South Carolina has recently exceeded $6 Billion since 1992, when the plant was first announced.
MAU, Inc., BMW’s contract staffing partner, will be responsible for hiring the new team members. Qualified applicants should attend the job fair at Spartanburg Community College (Middle Tyger Campus) on Monday, November 18 from 10 AM – 7 PM. Applicants can also apply online at www.mau.com/bmwjobs. MAU confirmed that these jobs include health, dental, 401(k) and vacation benefits.
