BMW Charity Pro-Am Announces Bacon Brothers Concert
The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation announced today the tournament’s annual celebrity concert will be headlined by The Bacon Brothers.
The Bacon Brothers is composed of well-known actor Kevin Bacon and Michael Bacon, award-winning composer for film and television. The concert, which is being presented by Drive Automotive, takes place on Friday, May 16, on the TD Stage at the Peace Center.
“We’re thrilled to host Kevin and Michael in Greenville and give our sponsors and special guests an exciting and entertaining show. We know The Bacon Brothers will deliver a memorable performance,” said Darin MacDonald, executive director of South Carolina Charities, Inc. “And like prior years, other tournament celebrities will be certain to join in and wow concert attendees with their own performances. It’ll be a great night.”
Limited ticket packages are available to this private event. Concert attendees will enjoy food provided by Larkin’s on the River and beverages at the Ketel One Bar and Lounge in the Wyche Pavilion. For additional information, call 864.297.1660.
Long before Kevin and Michael launched their careers in the entertainment industry, they were just two brothers, born nine years apart, coming of age in Philadelphia. By the late 1960s, Michael, already a professional musician, would perform with his band at the city’s famed Electric Factory with a young Kevin tagging along when he could. Those early days of playing music together parlayed into a legitimate, 19-year music career for the brothers, and to date, the band has released six albums.
Golden Globe Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Kevin Bacon currently stars in the FOX psychological thriller “The Following.” Kevin Bacon’s film credits include Oliver Stone’s “JFK,” “Footloose,” “A Few Good Men”, and “The River Wild.”
Michael Bacon won an Emmy for his score for “The Kennedys,” an Ace Award nomination for his score “The Man Who Loved Sharks,” and The BMI Television Music Award and The Chicago International Film Festival Gold Plaque Award for music in “LBJ.” Michael Bacon’s recent projects include the theme for “Bill Moyer’s Journal,” “African American Lives (1 and 2)” and “Oprah’s Roots” by Kuhnhart Productions.
In past years, the event has been dubbed The Celebrity Concert, featuring musical acts including Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, Mark Bryan and Dean Felber of Hootie and the Blowfish, Don Felder formerly of The Eagles and many others.
