Eighteen worthy organizations providing the community with services, ranging from meal support and affordable housing to pediatric special needs and veterans assistance, have been selected as the 2016 charity programs for this year’s BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation.

The tournament, managed by the non-profit organization South Carolina Charities, Inc., will take place May 19-22 at Thornblade Club, The Reserve at Lake Keowee and, new for 2016, The Preserve at Verdae. The selected charities include: BMW Car Club of America Foundations, Child Evangelism Fellowshipof Greenville, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Greenville Tech Foundation, Habitat forHumanity of Greenville County, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, NationalChristian College Athletic Association, New Foundations Home for Children, Palmetto AnimalAssisted Life’s Services, Project Hope Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas, Shriners Hospital for Children—Greenville, SYNNEX Share the Magic, The First Tee of Greenville, The Reserve at Lake Keowee Foundation, Upstate Warrior Solutions, and Urban League of the Upstate.

“The tournament does not only serve as a source of pride for the Upstate because of the talent and recognition it brings, but also for the greater good it fosters by supporting the individual missions of these 18 charities,” said Bob Nitto, president, BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation. “We are honored to assist these organizations in their effort to raise money to help continue the important work that they each do.” To assist the non-profits, the tournament provides risk-free opportunities to earn funds through three programs: ticket sales, volunteer recruitment and one-day pro-am team sales.

“The BMW Charity Pro-Am has made a difference for participating charities in the Upstate for 16 years,” said Jane Daniel, director of donor relations for Harvest Hope Food Bank. “We are happy to have the opportunity again to support the tournament, knowing the impact made by all volunteers, sponsors, players and attendees will be tangible in our community.”

Charities receive a 100 percent return on ticket sales. Tickets eligible for the contribution include Daily ($10), Patron ($25), and Clubhouse ($50) credentials, all of which are available for purchase at bmwcharitygolf.com. Another fundraising opportunity for charities is the Volunteer Program, which gives individuals the opportunity to earn $20 per day for the tournament charity of their choice. Also, once charities reach 50 volunteer workdays, they receive a $2,000 bonus. This bonus structure continues for every 50 volunteer workdays. Online volunteer registration opens February 1, 2016 at bmwcharitygolf.com.

The third risk-free opportunity for charities to earn funds is through one-day pro-am team sales. Foursomes in the Benore Logistics Systems Pro-Am, to be held Monday, May 16, are $7,500. Charities keep 50 percent of the foursome fee, giving the respective charity $3,250.
