As another way for the 48 selected charities of the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs to actively participate and raise more money, the board of South Carolina Charities, Inc. has incorporated four charity events that will kickoff a week of charity golf beginning April 28, 2003. The week culminates with the third-annual BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs golf tournament May 1-4, 2003, a Nationwide PGA TOUR event.

Dates, events and locations are as follows:

  • Monday, April 28, 2003 – Ben Wright International Challenge Cup Spartanburg Country Club; Carolina Country Club; The Cliffs at Glassy
  • Monday, April 28, 2003 – Charity Challenge Pro-Am Cliffs Valley

  • Thursday-Sunday; May 1-4, 2003 – BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs Cliffs Valley; The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards

“We have always had a vision that our event, with the support of BMW, the PGA TOUR and the Cliffs Communities, would involve the entire Upstate and Western North Carolina, and be seen as the place to be during the first week of May,” Doug McGrath, Chairman of the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs said. “To make that vision a reality, we had to create a one-of-a-kind event that touched a lot of people, plus excited the community and gave value to those sponsors that wanted to contribute to the betterment of life where we live and work. Our tournament highlights the hospitality of our communities, showcases the beauty of the Upstate and Western North Carolina, and improves the quality of life in our communities by giving back to those that are less fortunate. By hosting these four Pro-Ams as part of a week of golf, our vision is closer to becoming reality.”
