BMW Charity Pro-Am to Honor and Support Military Members and Families.
Officials from the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation have announced plans to honor and support military members during the 2015 tournament. The tournament will host two fundraisers, Big Break: Warrior Edition at The Reserve at Lake Keowee and Birdies for the Brave at Green Valley Country Club. In addition, the tournament will grant complimentary daily grounds admission to all active duty, retired and Reserve military members and veterans, along with their dependents. Only a valid military ID is required for en-try.
The first annual Big Break: Warrior Edition will take place on Wednesday, May 13 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee from 2 – 6 p.m. and will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and Upstate Warrior Solution, two charities that honor, empower and support returning and wounded warriors in the community. Ten teams consisting of Web.com Tour professionals, celebrities or Warriors and junior golfers will compete in a variety of golf skill challenges, including put-ting, chipping and driving. Green Valley Country Club will host a second military fundraiser, Birdies for the Brave, on the club’s 9th hole, from Thursday, May 14 to Saturday, May 16. Green Valley will donate $250 to the Birdies for the Brave charity each time a pro or amateur contestant makes a birdie on this par 4 hole. VIP Military Appreciation seating will also be provided on the 9th hole for all service members and their families.
