BMW Manufacturing Announces Leadership Change McCraw promoted to Vice President, Finance and Production Control
Spartanburg, S.C. – February 6, 2013… BMW Manufacturing announced today that Sherry Coonse McCraw has been named the new Vice President responsible for Finance and Production Control. She replaces Sean Noonan who will relocate to Munich with planning and steering responsibility for the company’s real estate portfolio.
McCraw, a 20-year veteran of BMW’s plant in South Carolina, has been instrumental in leading the plant’s major expansion investments throughout her tenure. Most recently, she managed the company’s $900 million investment to add 1.6 million square feet to the plant’s 4.0 million square foot footprint. This investment, which was announced in early 2012, will add a new model to the plant and increase the overall annual volume to 350,000 units by the end of 2014. In her new role, McCraw will continue to oversee the plant’s investment and expansion efforts.

Prior to BMW, Sherry worked as a Material Handling Engineer for Sara Lee Knit Products in Winston-Salem, NC. In 1990, Sherry received a B.S. Degree in Textile Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University, where she was a Coffee Foundation Academic Scholar and a University Academic Merit Scholar. Sherry is married to Kevin McCraw, who also works for BMW. They have one daughter.
BMW’s plant in Spartanburg currently produces over 1,000 vehicles each day and is the exclusive manufacturer of X3 and X5 Sports Activity Vehicles and the X6 Sports Activity Coupe. In 2012, the plant produced 301,519 vehicles, a record year in the company’s history.
