Foursomes Now Available for The First Tee Pro-Am hosted by Jay Haas
Foursomes are now available for The First Tee Pro-Am hosted by Jay Haas, which will bring 25 PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tour professionals to the Upstate for a one-day pro-am benefiting The First Tee Greenville.
Professionals scheduled to attend include the host of the event and 23-time Tour winner Jay Haas; U.S. Open Champion Lucas Glover; PGA TOUR Champions Jonathan Byrd, Bill Haas and Rocco Mediate; PGA TOUR members Matt Bettencourt, Justin Bolli, Brent Delahoussaye and Charles Warren; and Nationwide Tour members William McGirt, Kyle Thompson and Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey.
Additional PGA TOUR professionals will be added to the lineup as commitments are received. Other invitees include Ricky Barnes, Stewart Cink, Fred Couples, Brendon de Jonge, Zack Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Arnold Palmer, Davis Love III, Craig Stadler, Kevin Stadler, Johnson Wagner and Fuzzy Zoeller.
This exclusive pro-am will take place Monday, October 11, 2010 at Greenville Country Club’s Chanticleer course. Foursomes are $15,000 and include meals, four guest passes per foursome, gift packages and more.
This private one-day fundraiser will be limited to the participating professionals, amateur contestants and a few invited guests with the purpose of providing an intimate setting with high entertainment value.
The First Tee Pro-Am hosted by Jay Haas is operated and managed by South Carolina Charities, Inc., which also manages the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation. This new one-day pro-am was announced during the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation’s Media Day in April. During Media Day, local apparel provider OOBE committed to provide up to 250 OOBE shirts for companies that purchase two or more foursomes in the pro-am.

The First Tee Greenville is a non-profit organization whose mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. The First Tee’s objective is to provide affordable and accessible golf facilities, instructional programs and life skills for young people, particularly those who have not yet had access to the game.
The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation is the only tournament on the PGA TOUR’s Nationwide Tour where amateurs and celebrities are grouped with Nationwide Tour professionals in a four-day better-ball competition over three courses. Amateurs, celebrities and pros rotate between three courses on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the 14 lowest scoring pro-amateur/pro-celebrity teams advancing to play Sunday’s final round at Thornblade Club. Celebrities play once at each course on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The professional winner of the overall 72-hole event will take home $108,000 from the total purse of $600,000. Amateurs and celebrities will compete for individual prizes and cash donations to the charity of their choice out of the beneficiaries selected by South Carolina Charities, Inc.
The 2011 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation will be played May 19-22, 2011.
