Miller Joins BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs Golf Tournament Staff as Tournament Coordinator
Cathy Miller has joined the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs golf tournament staff as Tournament Coordinator.
Miller, originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has extensive golf tournament experience. She was Operations Manager for Canada’s only LPGA TOUR event – the Canadian Women’s Open – in 2001, 2002 and 2003, and also Assistant Operations Manager for the PGA TOUR’s Canadian Open. Miller was a volunteer for last year’s BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs golf tournament.
Miller is responsible for all volunteers, volunteer programs and will manage the tournament office. She will also assist in sponsorship sales, tournament operations, event planning, and charity communications.
“I’m excited to be a part of the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs tournament staff,” Miller said. “I have worked for PGA and LPGA tournaments in the past and I’m excited to now be working for the premier event on the Nationwide PGA Tour.”
“We are pleased to have someone with Cathy’s energy and experience join our staff,” said Tournament Director, Darin MacDonald. “Cathy knows what it takes to put on a tournament of this caliber and has a solid understanding of golf. She will be a great addition to the team as we continue to work to raise record monies for our charity beneficiaries.”
The BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs is one of the premier events on the Nationwide Tour and is the only event that features professionals paired with an amateur/celebrity partner in a two-day better-ball competition. Professionals compete for a cash purse, while amateurs/celebrities compete for individual prizes and cash donations to the charity of their choice out of the beneficiaries selected by South Carolina Charities, Inc.
All four rounds are televised live by The Golf Channel.
The first four tournaments have raised more than $2.3 million for charity.
