New Vice President Named at BMW Manufacturing

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - 07/18/2006

Barbara Bergmeier has been named vice president for Assembly at BMW Manufacturing Co.

Before joining BMW Manufacturing, Bergmeier worked at BMW’s Research and Development Center in Munich overseeing planning and development of Assembly operations throughout the BMW Group.

She joined BMW in 1990 and worked in Logistics, Production Control and Transportation at the Landshut plant in Germany. She moved into Production at the Munich plant in 1996 where she managed various assembly operations before moving to the Research and Development Center in 2002.

Bergmeier holds a degree in business management and information technology from the University of Applied Sciences in Landshut, Germany.

She succeeds Dieter Lauterwasser, who will return to Germany to lead a future model project.
