Online Volunteer Registration Now Open for the 2011 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation
South Carolina Charities, Inc. is now accepting volunteer applications for the 2011 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation golf tournament. Opportunities to volunteer include: hospitality, marshal, scoring, transportation and more.
Individuals interested in volunteering should visit www.bmwcharitygolf.com and click on the Volunteer Registration tab on the left side of the website’s main page. From there, volunteers may choose to register online or via paper application. Directions for submitting online and paper applications are included on the website.
The volunteer registration fee is $40 for all who register prior to April 1, 2011. After April 1, the registration fee will be $50. Positions are subject to availability and will not be assigned until payment is received. The registration fee includes one tournament polo shirt, one cap or visor, one Volunteer Credential, one Guest Credential, food and beverages while volunteering and more.
Each of the tournament’s charitable partners will retain 100 percent of the $40 uniform package fee for each volunteer who registers, pays the uniform fee and volunteers two days at the 2011 tournament. Volunteers must also submit their name through the charity of their choice.
In addition to earning money through volunteering, the tournament’s charitable partners have the opportunity to earn funds through two additional tournament-sponsored programs: ticket sales and one-day pro-am foursome sales. The 26 charities that will have the opportunity to earn funds from the tournament are: 100 Black Men of the Upstate, A Child’s Haven, Alzheimer’s Association – SC Chapter, Blue Ridge Council Boy Scouts of America, Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, Charles Lea Center Foundation, Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), Citizen Scholars of Spartanburg County, Compass of Carolina, Dogs for Autism, First Tee of Greenville, Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE), Greer Middle College Charter High School, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Hickory Nut Gorge Olympiad, Hidden Treasure Christian School, Hispanic-American Women’s Association (AHAM), Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Meals on Wheels of Greenville County, Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas, Scottish Rite Foundation of SC, St. Joseph’s Catholic School, The Walker Foundation Supporting the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind and YMCA Camp Greenville.
The first 10 tournaments have raised more than $7.96 million for 150+ charities.
The 2011 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation will be played May 19-22, at Bright’s Creek Golf Club, The Carolina Country Club and Thornblade Club golf courses.
The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation is the only tournament on the PGA TOUR’s Nationwide Tour where amateurs and celebrities are grouped with Nationwide Tour professionals in a four-day better-ball competition over three courses. Amateurs, celebrities and pros rotate between three courses on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the 14 lowest scoring pro-amateur/pro-celebrity teams advancing to play Sunday’s final round at Thornblade Club. Celebrities play once at each course on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The professional winner of the overall 72-hole event will take home $108,000 from the total purse of $600,000. Amateurs and celebrities will compete for individual prizes and cash donations to the charity of their choice out of the beneficiaries selected by South Carolina Charities, Inc.
