Thursday Evening Celebrity Walk of Fame Cancelled Due to Weather.
Officials from the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation announced this morning that the Celebrity Walk of Fame presented by Piedmont Natural Gas has been cancelled for tonight. The event was originally scheduled from 6:45-7:45 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Greenville. It was also announced this morning that actor Oliver Hudson (“Nashville”) withdrew due to illness.
“We were very excited to add the Walk of Fame back into the tournament activities this year, and the buzz and anticipation from the community supported our decision to bring it back,” said Darin MacDonald, executive director of South Carolina Charities, Inc., the non-profit that manages the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation. “Unfortunately, our best plans are being washed out as the weather today is going to prevent us from setting up for and holding the Walk of Fame tonight. There are significant logistics involved for this event, and the forecast is not going to provide the long window of suitable weather needed to get everything in place for a safe and enjoyable event. We’re encouraging those who were hoping to see the celebrities tonight to join us at one of the golf courses this week.”
The 2014 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation runs today through Sunday at Thornblade Club, The Reserve at Lake Keowee and, new for 2014, Green Valley Country Club.
