Tournament Announces Free Celebrity Concert Featuring Mark Bryan and Dean Felber of Hootie and the Blowfish.
Officials from the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation announced today that the tournament, along with sponsors Piedmont Natural Gas and The Reserve at Lake Keowee, will host a free-to-the-public concert on Main Street on Thursday, May 14 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
“This will be the 15th year for the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX to be held in our community, and tournament week has brought great attention to not only the City of Greenville but the entire Upstate region over these years,” explained Greenville Mayor Knox White. “The City is excited about this public concert being held downtown and giving people a chance to engage in one of the many enjoyable aspects of tournament week.” The Celebrity Concert on Main presented by Piedmont Natural Gas and The Reserve at Lake Keowee will be held in downtown Greenville between Broad and Court Streets.
This free event will feature performances by the 2015 tournament celebrities including Mark Bryan and Dean Felber of Hootie and the Blowfish. “Having hosted this concert several times as a private event, we know how fun and truly unique it is,” explained Darin MacDonald, executive director of the tournament.
“We’re thrilled to bring the experience to a larger audience by making it a free event.” Concessions for the Celebrity Concert on Main will be provided by Papi’s Tacos, Highway 301 Food Truck, Passerelle Bistro and Larkin’s on the River.
The event will also feature The Reyka Glacial Lounge, a full bar and lounge where concert attendees can socialize and enjoy great drinks and entertainment. Sandlapper Securities has signed on as stage sponsor.
The full celebrity lineup for both the 2015 tournament and Celebrity Concert on Main will be announced during Media Day presented by OOBE at Fluor Field on Thursday, April 23 during the Greenville Drive’s home game versus the Asheville Tourists.
Past participants in the concert include Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, actor Terry O’Quinn and former Eagles guitarist Don Felder.
